About Doro Mind
We are on a mission to make meaningful recovery the norm for people with serious mental illness. We understand recovery doesn't happen in isolation; it is a team sport, including strong, supported caregivers.
What We Mean by Recovery
Meaningful recovery is a holistic, goal-oriented restoration of quality of life and daily functioning, where an individual has a sense of purpose and self, enabling them to form relationships and be a productive member of their community and society.
It aims to produce vital individuals with optimal physical functioning, free from pain both physically and emotionally, enjoying long and fulfilling lives.
Our team offers more than services; we offer a partnership. Whether you're looking for answers, stability, or simply someone who understands what you're going through, we are here to help.
We provide direct access to expert providers, compassionate guidance tailored to your situation, and a care team that believes recovery is possible with the right support, at the right time.
How It Started

Co-Founder
Mimi has walked alongside a loved one through the complexities of diagnosis, treatment, and the pursuit of recovery. Her personal experience shaped her understanding of what families truly need, and what the system too often fails to provide.
Co-Founder
Brady has navigated serious mental illness within his own family, living firsthand the isolation, confusion, and hope that come with caring for a loved one with SMI. That lived experience is at the core of how Doro Mind approaches care.
Together, Mimi and Brady shared a simple but powerful mission: to build the kind of support system they wished they had, one that combines clinical excellence with real-world understanding.
When they looked at the state of mental health care, they weren't just seeing a broken system. They were seeing the pockets of hope hidden within it. Individual practitioners, programs, and treatment protocols with clear, outsized results. Recovery rates as high as 70% or more with the right care.
Doro Mind was created to dramatically increase access to these approaches. Their belief, grounded in evidence, is that recovery is not only possible but achievable, with the right care, guidance, and support system in place.
“A diagnosis doesn't have to define a person. Nor does it define your role as a caregiver.”
Mimi Liu & Brady Richards, Co-Founders
Why Doro Mind
Life with SMI is unpredictable, emotional, and intensely challenging. Through our programs, Doro Care and Doro Compass, we tailor our approach to your family's unique journey, providing expert guidance, compassionate care, and steady, practical support for lasting recovery.
Decades of research confirm what caregivers already know: family involvement is a key factor in meaningful, long-term recovery. We partner with families from day one, supporting the entire family unit, not just your loved one with SMI.
We specialize in treating complex serious mental illnesses, including schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and related psychotic conditions. Our team brings deep clinical knowledge, lived experience, and compassionate care to every stage of the recovery journey.
Mental health recovery is connected to physical health, daily routines, medication side effects, relationships, and a sense of purpose. We take a whole-person approach: clinically effective, practical, and deeply compassionate.
Life with SMI is unpredictable. We offer in-person care across NY, NJ, CT, and CA, and virtual support available nationwide, responsive, timely, and easy to reach whenever you need us most.

We understand the complexities of Clozapine therapy, and our approach ensures safety, stability, and meaningful recovery for your loved one.
